About Toronto
Toronto is Canada's largest city and the capital of Ontario. Originally founded by the British in the eighteenth century under the name of York, the city received its current name in 1834.
With over two and a half million residents, Toronto is a world-class city with a rich culture and much to see and do. Perhaps the most recognized landmark in the city is the CN tower, one of the world's tallest freestanding structures, which affords a beautiful view of the city and surrounding area.
